Groundwater Vulnerability Evaluation in the Nineveh Plain, Northern Iraq, using a GIS-based DRASTIC Model

The goal of this study is to determine the vulnerability groundwater in northern Iraq's Nineveh Plain by utilizing DRASTIC method and geographic information systems (GIS). In context human or environmental systems, refers potential for harm as a result stress disturbance, it may be related particular system, hazard, group hazards. map includes three categories: very low, medium. Following results spatial analysis, can concluded that southern northeastern portions area have been most vulnerable contamination under medium group. According statistics acquired removing one element at time analyzing effect on calculated index, impact vadose zone sensitive factor (the mean value 3.00). aquifer type, topography, hydraulic conductivity all same 1.5. soil has 0.5, making least effective. research recommends necessity using maps process planning future lands protection from pollution.
